One Arizona-based company, however, says it has a solution. MegaBee: The Tucson Bee Diet is a protein, vitamin and mineral supplement that promises to improve honeybee health.
For several years experts at the University of Bonn in Germany have been experimenting with “medihoney” – a blend of two types of honey with especially potent healing powers.
“There is no way I would let anyone treating me or my loved ones put anything except honey on our wounds,” says Dr Shona Blair, a post-doctoral microbiology researcher at the University of Sydney. Studies shows that honey has anti bacterial effects, but the effectiveness can vary hundredfolds between different types of honey.
