The British Beekeepers’ Association, which represents more than 16,000 of the country’s amateur beekeepers, will give a £36,000 grant to support the work of a post graduate student over the next three years, in the prestigious Laboratory of Apiculture and Social Insects (LASI) at Sussex University.

Penn State research on honeybee health and Colony Collapse Disorder (CCD) will receive a boost as a result of a $100,000 gift from the E.B. O’Keeffe Foundation. The award will fund a competitive graduate fellowship that will pair a student’s area of study with a leading researcher already working on that problem. The search for candidates will be conducted nationally beginning this fall.
