A state subcommittee is scheduled to consider today whether the U.S. Department of Agriculture may use larger-than-usual amounts of a chemical pesticide in soil treatments in Central Massachusetts starting in spring 2010 as part of an effort to protect trees from the Asian longhorned beetle.
